I love Aranea and Meenah
I can’t wait until Karkat does eventually give two fucks about the new trolls (because he will, because he’s Karkat and caring about trolls and humans while bitching about it is his thing).
Then I want him to ask Aranea if Meenah is her moirail or her matesprit (because Karkat is obsessed with romance, he just is).
Then I want Aranea to blow Karkat’s mind by not even having a clue as to what those are. Perhaps in their pre-scratch version of Alternia trolls even raised their own offspring. Karkat would flip his shit.
(Also, I think it would be adorable if Meenah followed Karkat around like a lost puppy and protected his ass in the dreambubbles because she has a crush on him, and it has been a millennium since she had feelings like that for another troll. But don’t get me wrong, I ship Meenah <3/<> Aranea very, very hard, and support that pairing as well. I just have a soft spot for highblood/lowblood pairings.)

I am going to share my bizarre trigger. I hate triggers, and the overuse and misuse of triggers, and just generally how fragile people can be on the internet (because I am of the school of thought that says you must face the things which terrify you in order to move beyond them).

Some of the best opportunities for discussion with others, personal examination of human character, and exposure to different ideas come from art, novels, other means of storytelling (graphic novels/webcomics), and the derivative works created by fans. There are both meaningful and unmeaningful moments within all fandoms. People who want to look for meaning beyond a simple story/work will, those who don’t, won’t. This is true in and out of fandom.
Also, some good artists do fanart for fun (not all their work ends up on the internet). I don’t think that watching a tumblr is always the end-all-be-all of an artist.
And just one snarky comment: People don’t have to be an activist of a cause, through art or other means, 100% of the time. Sometimes you have to have a little fucking fun in life or what’s the point? Seriously. I would never want someone to judge me as an artist or person solely on my tumblr. You would never get to know the person who advocates for both disabled rights and gay rights, volunteers to teach/coach/mentor students, or who competed nationally in forensics and debate in college. I just need a place where I can say fuck it and post art of dicks and my OTPs sometimes. My life cannot be serious 24/7, and I’m sure that is the way it is for other artists too.

I seriously have had issues drawing since Naka-kon this year (so February). I literally didn’t know how necks worked for at least a month. My brain didn’t know how to use proportions for at least half that time. Perspective…pffffft. *laughs* It just popped into place the other night. I remember how to art again. It was the most bizarre art block I have ever had. Now I just need to improve.
Anyone else ever suffer from crazy artblock? (I think mine was stress honestly).

Also, I obviously do not understand how to bend water (I am going to pretend she is at the end of the kata and about to force the water forward.

So I just spent three months in complete art block and suddenly I just pooped out the best art I have ever sketched. I am so glad I decided to draw in my deliriously tired state.
I will scan a quality copy tomorrow. I think you guys will be impressed.
I’ve been working on stuff for acen. I got some chibi linearts done and thought I’d share my favorite lineart so far.
Other chibis that I’m finishing: Korra, Mako, Bolin, Marceline, Finn with Jake, Fire Princess, Fiona with Cake, Ice Queen, Prince Gumball, Princess Bubblegum with Science the rat, Rainbow Dash (human) and Tank, some moogles, Lavi, Sephiroth, Tifa, Cloud, the MLP main 6 as humans, heartless.
I can do this by Thursday morning. I can.
Homestucks, no.
Timeline people. Timeline. The current conversation taking place in Homestuck happened three years ago in the timeline between thirteen year old Jake and thirteen year old Dirk. Therefore, of course Dirk isn’t going to confess, because he hasn’t confessed in the current storyline. You should know this. This is how timelines work.
Dirk hasn’t confessed anything feeling-like to Jake yet as his sixteen year old self.
Therefore, three years ago a confession was not made.
Simple timeline logic.
I feel like I should be grossed out that Gamzee is selling dead troll blood, but I’m not. The trolls come from a culture where blood of the dead can be used as awesome fingerpaints. Why are people surprised Gamzee reveres his dead friends blood enough to bottle and sell it saying that it has magical properties?
It fits right in with the rest of Homestuck. What? It does.
